In every location on this website, we hope to share as much as possible about our company and the services we provide our customers. Everyone has heard that people are often “judged by the company they keep”. In that spirit we would like to introduce BDS’s key associations to show that we keep very good company, indeed.
Our parent company, Bennett International Group (BIG) was founded in 1974 as George Bennett Motor Express. It began as a small intrastate trucking operation with five trucks and two customers into a nearly $300 million global transportation and logistics firm serving over five thousand customers across North America. Today, our nationwide team of over 3,000 employees, agents and contractors is recognized as a leader in the industry and a premier provider of supply chain solutions to government contractors and commercial businesses for over 35 years. Bennett International Group is the largest woman owned company in the state of Georgia and a proud member of the Women's Business Enterprise Council (WBENC).
Under the leadership of our principle owner, President and CEO, Marcia G. Taylor, Bennett International Group has grown into an international transportation and logistics industry leader with nine primary business lines. Mrs. Taylor developed Bennett and its related entities into a multi-faceted system of innovative logistics companies involved in such diverse modalities as drive away, manufactured housing, heavy-haul freight, logistics, warehousing, port services, international freight forwarding and transportation related insurance. Through the operations of the Group’s affiliated companies Bennett provides a full menu of transportation and logistics services. With the financial strength and operational reach afforded us through our parent company, BDS is ideally positioned to accomplish our future growth objectives.
To best prepare our management team to perform their leadership role in our dynamic operations, we have affiliated with the two finest logistics and supply chain professional associations in the world. Our participation in CSCMP and WERC affords us access to the latest advancements in industry practices, newest development in information technologies and the opportunity to interact with finest leaders in the logistics industry.
Located principally in two markets, we sought out access to other well-run 3PL’s that could be called upon to help us meet our customer’s needs across the U.S. We were honored to be accepted into membership in Associated Warehouses, Inc. As members of AWI, we are identified with the finest regional 3PLs in the nation, as a full partner in shared best practices and cutting edge customer service.
